What is now known as the Texas County Baptist Association was founded in 1847 as part of what was then called the Gasconade River Association. The Gasconade River Association served Baptist Churches in Laclede, Pulaski, Wright and Texas counties at that time. The true origins of the GRA has been lost to history.  On September 25, 1847 Baptist Churches joined forces in the cause of Christ and that of spreading the true Gospel in Texas County. While the world we live in is much different than that of our Baptist forefathers, man is still in need of a Savior and our purpose has remained true for 171 years.

TCBA is made up of twenty five autonomous congregations that cooperate with the Southern Baptist Convention and the Missouri Baptist Convention.  We are unified by Christ and His redeeming Grace.  In all of our churches Christ is glorified, some are traditional in style some use blended worship, all are welcoming and friendly. Most importantly, our churches have a passion to see the lost saved and the saved grow spiritually.

The TCBA owns and operates Simmons Baptist Camp. Located centrally at a beautiful site on the Big Piney River.  This camp is dedicated to the furtherance of the Gospel. Please check out the Simmons Camp page for more information.

Our association very actively supports the churches in the efforts of VBS, Sunday School, Revivals, and many other aspects of spreading the Good News of Christ. Thank you for taking time to check us out, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask for more information.
